CAFOD Friday Fast Days in Lent and October are NOT weekend second collections. They are an opportunity for the faithful to fast on a particular Friday and to then donate any monies saved through such fasting to CAFOD in the envelopes distributed the weekend before. It is not envisaged that the faithful will be asked to give additional money in a second collection whilst the CAFOD envelopes are being collected in, unless the Parish or the Parish Priest chooses to hold an optional second collection specifically for the work of CAFOD.
