Baptism<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

1. Baptism, the gateway to the sacraments, is necessary for salvation. By it people are freed from sins, are born again as children of God and, made like to Christ by an indelible character,\u00a0are incorporated into the church.<\/p>\n

\u200b<\/span>Therefore, parents are obliged to see that their infants are baptised within the first few weeks. As soon as after the birth, indeed even before it, they are to approach the parish priest to ask for the sacrament for their child, and to be themselves duly prepared for it.<\/p>\n

\u200b<\/span>Please download the form and send it by post, email attachment, or hand it to the parish priest at\u00a0church.<\/p>\n

Baptism Form<\/a><\/p>\n

\u200b2.\u00a0<\/span>Places of Baptism in this Parish are:\u00a0Our Lady of Lourdes Church\u00a0and Cambourne Church<\/p>\n

At Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Baptism could be during or outside Mass, but at Cambourne Church, it can only be celebrated within Mass. Unless in danger of death, the Bishop\u2019s permission is required if you would like to have it in other places.<\/p>\n

\u200b3.\u00a0<\/span>One sponsor (\u2018godparent\u2019), male or female, is sufficient; but it is possible to have two, one of each sex. To undertake the office of a sponsor, a person must:\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n
