Retreat day for children and young people, Nov 21st

 Dear Parents/ carers,
Please find below the details of a retreat happening here in Cambourne this Saturday 21st if November.
This is an amazing opportunity to for our children to grow in their faith through the Church.
Please can you let me know or Liz Christy if you would like your child to attend.  It may seem like a long day but in our day to day  life it’s not a great amount of time to spend truly in the heart of your Church growing in knowledge and love about Jesus.
Your child will receive so much from this event I do hope you can join us.
Start 10am  Finish after 5 pm Mass.  But if people need to leave earlier you can still join in up until the time you have to leave but it’s best to stay at least until 3pm to get the most out to the day.
Food is provided please say if you need Lunch or if you are bringing your own packed lunch.  Water bottle is always handy.
Please see information below got more details.
No charge but donations welcome.
Love Lorretta

Please find below details as requested:
1)Theme for the day – Jesus , the way, truth and the life.
2)The age bracket for each group.
a) Age Group – 6 – 9
b) Age Group – 10 – 15
c) Age Group – 16 – 22
Adults can join at 3 PM for the adoration which will be continued by Holy Mass.
3)The Team consist of 11 ministers. All of them have DBS clearence.
4) If the participants can bring  Bible, note pad pen & Rosary might be helpful.
The book stall will be available to buy things.

With regards to finance, they are doing this on a voluntary basis and any collection they get will go to their (Sehion UK) Christian ministry. To look at the logistics they are coming from Birmingham, and going back, hence it would be good to provide them with some contributions which will help with their travelling expenses. (however this shouldn’t prevent people from attending).

There will be food provided but people can bring their own packed lunch especially if they have allergies that need catering for .
Volunteers-parents wouldn’t need to be there the whole time, however some volunteers on a rota/full time basis would be helpful.
The timings will be from 10am -3pm, followed by adoration in preparation holy mass The website for Sehion ministry is as follows:

Live and Amped, Nov 21st at CVC

Dear all,
another  reminder of the very popular youth event at CVC on the 21st. it is led by West Cambridge Youth Ministries and it is a good way to be introduced to some contemporary Christian acts as well as enjoy local talent performing. Anna and Danny’s choir performed the last 2 years (they are part of Tensing which is supported by the YMCA and runs at Histon Baptist church..and beyond!)
it is really good music and well run. There are snacks there if they bring a little cash. if the kids pay entry on the door it is easier too.
if your kids need a lift there and back let me know asap. Mary,Lorretta , Claire and i had a good time last year-so parents do come along-the kids get on with watching the bands etc and it is a good evening- we even got a few dances in!
I’m happy to cook some pizzas at Cambourne after Mass for any kids and parents coming with us- just let me know.
Hopefully we will have a clutch from OLEM 7up coming out as they did last year.
Please spread the word!
Love and thanks to everyone who supports our young people,
Mel

7-Up barbecue

If you can’t make it all the way to Cambridge for the Ablaze Mass, you can still enjoy the company of friends, food and high-velocity water at the Wards’ house in Caldecote on 12th July.

Mel and Richard have generously offered their garden, their barbecue, their meat and their water to 7-Uppers who would like fun, food and frolics in the garden, from 5pm.

Ablaze Mass 12th July

Please do join us for this month’s Ablaze Mass, at 6pm on Sunday 12th July, at St Laurence Church, Milton Road, Cambridge. It is always an energetic Mass with great music and spirit. The main focus is on youth, but children and ancients enjoy it too.

In the words of one of our young parishoners, “best Mass ever!”

ABLAZE Mass 14th June, with Bishop Alan

The bishop will be joining us at 6pm on Sunday 14th June for the ABLAZE Mass at St Laurence’s church, Milton Road, Cambridge.

It’s a proper Sunday Mass, so you don’t need to go to another Mass for the weekend.

All ages welcome. The music is lively and worship is led by the young people of the parish, and there is a good supply of hot pizza after Mass, too.
